19/12/2009 Snow stops play

Today's match against Leodensians has been postponed due to a frozen pitch following an early morning pitch inspection.

The fixture will now be played on 02/01/2010 with the scheduled cup match against Bridlington to be rearranged. Club chairman Mally King said "League fixtures must always take priority and we hope to rearrange the match against Bridlington soon. It is sad there will be no match before Christmas, but this gives us an opportunity to turn over a new leaf in the league and start afresh in 2010."

The Stags' away fixture against Ionians Ramblers has also been postponed. The fixture will be rearranged for a date to be announced.

Training will be as normal on Tuesday

HESSLE welcome back several players, including Stuart Louth, Gary Pearce and Chris Tranmer, for their home league game against Leodiensian.

The hosts will be aiming for a morale-boosting victory following their heavy loss at North Ribblesdale last week.

11/12/2009 Atkinson returns for Hessle

HESSLE'S leading try-scorer Adam Atkinson is set to return against North Ribblesdale.

Josh Moore will replace Ben Parker on the wing, whilst Jimmy Harrison and Lee Evans are included in the squad.

The committee are pleased to announce the launch of an online chat forum dedicated to Hessle RUFC and its members.

HESSLE keep faith with the same team which lost narrowly last week against Hullensians for their clash at West Leeds.

Lee Evans and Josh Moore, who were drafted in late at second-row and scrum-half respectively, retain their places and Chris Tranmer will again be at stand-off.

06/11/2009 Hessle v West Leeds Postponed

Tommorow's game against West Leeds has been postponed after a number of players come down with Flu.

At least 14 players from the game between Hessle and Hullensians have been diagnosed with the flu. Consequently, both clubs and the YRFU have agreed that neither team should travel this week.

13/11/2009 Fletcher back for Hessle

RICHARD Fletcher is back in action for Hessle tomorrow after playing international rugby league for Scotland last weekend.

The Widnes and former Hull FC man will be back in the centre for the home league game against Ripon.

Stuart Louth, Ashley Hedges, Andy Dows and Dave Leeman are all missing, but Chris Tranmer and John Stonehouse return to the back-row along with Adam Atkinson, so John Casey will come in at hooker.

Former Pocklington and Hull second-rower Sammy Anderson returns to make his first appearance of the season.

20/11/2009 Poucher moves to stand-off

HESSLE'S former Hull FC and Hull KR utility back Craig Poucher will be at stand-off for the re-arranged Yorkshire Division Two game at West Leeds.

Poucher moves from full-back into the number 10 berth in place of Chris Tranmer, who reverts to the back-row with Oliie Spicer taking up the full-back position.

Ashley Hedges and Sammy Anderson will be absent, so Lee Evans and John Stonehouse will form the second-row.

27/11/2009 The Races Come to Hessle

Hessle RUFC will be hosting a Race Night to help raise funds for the club coffers on the 5th of December (Saturday) from 7:30 pm.

The club has high hopes for a good turn out as the event follows a day which sees the 1sts at home to Pocklington and the Stags at home to Scarborough.
